David Kelly leads the business & commercial law team and the marketing, advertising & promotions team. David's expertise is providing legal services to in-house counsel, C level executives and other corporate professionals (such as marketers, procurement managers and corporate affairs teams). He has significant experience dealing with all commercial legal issues faced by corporations in their day-to-day business and he has a particular interest in marketing-related legal issues (including the management of legal risks arising from the use of social media channels). David worked for several years as in-house legal counsel for a large Australian manufacturing company. Currently, David is trusted legal adviser to several household brand name clients.
David's philosophy is that a lawyer's objective is not the elimination of risk from a commercial transaction or a marketing campaign, but the identification and management of those risks in a manner commensurate with the potential commercial rewards and the risk appetite of the client's business. David has built a thriving practice assisting senior people within businesses achieve this objective.
