Anna is a Senior Associate in our Workplace Relations & Safety team. Anna joined KHQ in early 2021, having previously worked at leading firms in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Anna has broad experience advising clients on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment and safety matters, including:
- Advising on the drafting, interpretation and application of employment and independent contractor agreements, restraints of trade, incentive schemes, policies and other HR documentation
- Assisting clients in managing grievances, restructurings and redundancies, performance and absence management issues, disciplinary processes and negotiated exits
- Providing support and advice in relation to the employment and safety aspects of commercial contracts and transactions, and
- Representing clients in contentious matters, including managing and resolving employment litigation (with particular experience managing unfair dismissal and discrimination claims).
Anna has represented employers in contentious matters in both the United Kingdom and New Zealand, resolving numerous disputes on agreed terms as well as successfully managing proceedings to full hearings. Her international experience means she is uniquely placed to advise on cross border employment issues.
Anna holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago in New Zealand, and is currently awaiting admission to the Supreme Court of Victoria. Outside of work, she is a keen skier and scuba diver, and is looking forward to exploring Australia’s coastline.
