Nicholas Wookey Lawyer

Nick is a lawyer in our Tax & Structuring team. Nick provides advice and assists clients (including SMEs and large family businesses) with a broad range of private wealth, trusts, tax, asset protection, and related commercial law matters, including:

  • individual, SME, and trust taxation disputes
  • trust law issues and drafting complex trust deeds and variations to suit (as necessary)
  • income tax, capital gains tax and cross-border tax matters
  • GST
  • individual and corporate tax residency
  • super guarantee
  • state duties, land tax and payroll tax
  • small business concessions
  • advising in relation to and documenting mergers and acquisitions (including shareholders’ agreements, share sale agreements, asset sale agreements, licence/royalty agreements, etc.)
  • business restructures, including drafting documentation for their implementation (including rollover agreements, joint venture and development agreements, sale agreements, licence agreements etc).
  • structuring and asset protection
  • complex estate and succession planning matters
  • property law matters

Nick’s experience includes corporate, general commercial and health law, acting for business, government, and not-for-profit clients. He has also worked alongside a Melbourne-based international and local arbitrator and mediator, which gave him an insight into the commercial drivers and interests of various private and commercial parties.

In his spare time, Nick races go-karts competitively, is a keen traveller and enjoys all things outdoors including snowboarding, hiking, rock climbing and off-roading.
