The decision to separate from your partner is one of the most difficult you will face, and is often accompanied by feelings of anxiety and uncertainty.  Many people find it confronting to contact a lawyer for an initial discussion about their situation and options.  But now there’s a way to obtain that initial advice online and in your own time.

KHQ Lawyers has partnered with Settify, an innovative and award-winning online tool which provides a concise overview of your current situation and general advice on next steps, to help you know where you stand.

Created by lawyers with backgrounds in family law and technology, Settify is simple and intuitive to use.   The first step is to complete a short online questionnaire about your general circumstances.  Once you’ve done that, you will receive a summary of your current position, and general advice about next steps (including how the family law system works) and options regarding parenting arrangements and property settlement.

If you’re ready to move forward, you can then provide via Settify further detailed information about your circumstances and arrange a meeting with one of our lawyers.  Once an appointment is made, Settify will provide to us a summary of the information you’ve supplied, giving us an overview of your situation before we meet.  This ensures our first meeting will be efficient and targeted, with the time devoted to discussing options and planning next steps – delivering a cost saving to you.

KHQ Lawyers is excited to make this technology available to its clients.  Said Monica Blizzard, head of our Family & Relationship Law team, “We see enormous potential in Settify to help clients who are hesitant about speaking with a lawyer.  Having access to free, general advice about their situation will support clients to make decisions on how best to move forward.”

Sourcing technology to streamline legal functions is a key focus for KHQ Lawyers.  Said managing director, David Kelly, “We’ve been working on improving our systems and functions in various areas, and on finding ways to deliver legal services in new and innovative ways.  Settify is an impressive system, and one we feel will be of great benefit to those wanting to know where they stand before they take the next step”.

Max Paterson, CEO and co-founder of Settify, said “The Family & Relationship Law team at KHQ Lawyers are very highly regarded in the profession.  Settify is proud to collaborate with these truly modern, forward-looking legal experts to innovate and leverage tech to deliver real value to clients”.
