KHQ Lawyers will promote Gina Capasso and Claire Brown, both from the firm’s workplace relations & safety group, to the role of principal solicitor, commencing 1 July 2019.

Ms Capasso joined KHQ Lawyers in 2016, with a distinguished 20-year career at Ashurst and Gadens.  Appointed initially as a team-lead for safety, she has made her mark in accelerating and growing the firm’s practice in the area.  Said Ms Capasso, “I am grateful for the ongoing support of my clients and colleagues in achieving this career highlight.  I am excited to share the next stage of learning to provide solutions to the myriad workplace employment and safety challenges faced by businesses”.

Ms Brown came to KHQ Lawyers as a trainee lawyer in 2014 with an extensive background in industrial relations and operational HR with AMMA and Linfox Armaguard (among others) prior to commencing her legal career. While Ms Brown is actually the first lawyer to rise from a graduate level to principal solicitor in the firm’s history, she has charted her own unique path from industry into the law and has been a key operator in KHQ’s market-leading success in industrial strategy and employment litigation. Commenting on her promotion, Ms Brown said “I’m delighted to become a principal solicitor at a firm I truly believe in. KHQ has fostered an environment of growth and learning for me and has allowed me to form some fantastic relationships with colleagues and clients.  I’m both tremendously proud to have reached this milestone with their support and incredibly excited to move to this new chapter in my career”.

“Gina and Claire are practitioners of the highest calibre, and the firm is delighted to recognise their achievements” managing director, David Kelly said.  “Impressively, they have along the way already gained key external market recognition in well-respected legal directories, and their promotions will elevate both the team and the firm as a whole”.

Director and practice group leader for workplace relations & safety, Chris Gianatti, wanted to have the last word – “What can I say?   How cool is it to have such amazing lawyers take the team forward!  Congratulations Gina and Claire, you are the ones who make this team what it is in terms of absolutely first-class hard work and style and thanks so much to our amazing client base who give us the opportunity to do such great work every day!”.
