David Kelly Managing Director

David is the founder and managing director of KHQ.

David has enjoyed a distinguished career practising general commercial law, working with top tier firms and in-house before launching Kelly Hazell (as it was) in 2006.  David and his co-founder had a clear vision for the type of firm they wanted KHQ to be.  In pursuing that vision, KHQ has carved a niche in the legal market as a top-tier boutique law firm – we possess top tier‑talent, clients and expertise while retaining the characteristics of a boutique (nimble, efficient and cost effective).

David became the firm’s first managing director in 2016.  In this role, David is responsible for implementing and driving the firm’s strategic focus, leading our people, championing the firm’s core values, maintaining relationships with our clients and supporters and acting as the public face of the firm.

David holds degrees in law and science (with honours), is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and was the Director (Learning Chair) of the Entrepreneur’s Organisation (Victoria, Melbourne Chapter).

If you have any questions about our practice groups or would like to know more about how KHQ can help you, please don’t hesitate to contact David for an obligation free discussion.
